about the awards

The awards themselves were designed and made by Stan Ceglinski of Mullumbimby Woodworks. Stan runs a small family business which takes great pride in value adding salvaged timber with a focus on quality of design, workmanship and materials.

The awards presented for the Corporate Responsibility Index were created from a salvaged scented Rosewood (Dysoxylum Fraseranum) tree, felled fifty years ago and rejected for use due to a small defect within the log. Mullumbimby Woodworks salvaged the log four years ago from Killarney in south-eastern Queensland where it had been left lying on the ground to rot. The wood is approximately 1000 years old and is a beautiful red in colour.
