Corporate Responsibility Index
The Corporate Responsibility Index (CR Index), is a leading business management and benchmarking tool that enables companies to effectively measure, monitor, report and improve their impacts on society and the environment.
Developed in consultation with business leaders the first CR Index survey was launched in 2002. In addition to it being a public exercise in transparency the Index was created as a robust tool to help companies systematically measure, manage and integrate responsible business practice.
In the UK, companies using the Index to consistently measure and manage their corporate responsibility performance outperformed their FTSE 350 peers on total shareholder return in seven out of the last eight years!
37 companies have been participating in the Index since its inception, including:
- Marks & Spencer
- Lloyds Banking Group
In Australia and New Zealand, the CR Index is managed, coordinated and administered under exclusive licence by the Net Balance Foundation.
